Mirador de El Guincho

Looking down on Garachico from the west. Below are the rock that gives the town its name, the El Guincho cliff and the harbour; on the slope, old terraces nobody farms any more. The bus stops here and there is room to park, plus a panel explaining the view.

Playa de Las Aguas (Garachico)

Garachico · 7 min drive

An isolated beach of pebbles, shingle and sand, about 250 metres long, next to Garachico's new marina. It can only be reached on foot and has no facilities or parking. The sea is usually moderate, but some days the waves are strong.

Garachico

Garachico · 9 min drive

A coastal town minutes west of Icod. It was the island's main port until the 1706 eruption destroyed part of the old town and sealed the harbour. Rebuilt, it is now one of the loveliest towns in the north: a listed historic quarter since 1994, a 16th-century castle and the El Caletón natural pools carved by those same lava flows.

PR-TF 43 Garachico – Chinyero

Garachico / El Tanque / Santiago del Teide · 9 min drive

The long, hard version: 18.71 km from Garachico town up to Montaña Chinyero, with 1,810 m of accumulated climb from near sea level. It crosses three protected areas, historic lava flows and pine forest, with views of Teide and Pico Viejo.

Iglesia Matriz de Santa Ana

Garachico · 10 min drive

Garachico's mother church dates from 1520. The land came from Cristóbal de Ponte, who founded the town, and the dedication nods to his wife, Ana de Vergara. It had to be rebuilt after the 1706 eruption. Inside, look for two pieces: the Mexican-made Cristo de la Misericordia and the 17th-century font.
