A glass of wine before heading back
Icod is called «de los Vinos» for a reason. The afternoon starts in the vineyard, where they are recovering grape varieties that exist only in the Canaries, and ends in the town square with a glass of malvasía.

Early afternoon
Viñátigo, booked ahead
A winery in La Guancha, about ten minutes away, focused on recovering native varieties. The guided visit with tasting lasts two hours, runs weekday mornings and is booked on its own site; so is the commented tasting, six wines in 45 minutes. Its site lists two different prices for the visit: confirm when booking.

The appellation, explained
The Ycoden-Daute-Isora DO covers the island's north-west and gives the district's wine its name. The wine guide explains the varieties, what is drunk here and why the Canaries stopped being phylloxera-free in July 2025.
As the evening comes
Plaza de la Pila and the Malvasía Museum
The town's real centre, and the place to sit at seven in the evening. The Malvasía Museum is on the square itself — OpenStreetMap places it there, and no official source publishes its hours: read the sign.

For dinner
In the old town, a minute from the square
Icod's restaurants that publish hours carry them in the eating guide exactly as they publish them; those that do not appear without hours, rather than with invented ones.
Good to know
Whoever drives does not taste. Between Viñátigo and the old town lie ten minutes of hill road: this afternoon is ordered so the real glass comes last, in the square and a short ride from the house.
