Casa del Vino de Tenerife is in El Sauzal, beside the northern motorway (TF-5), in a 17th-century Canarian estate house. It belongs to the Cabildo and is run by the Fundación Tenerife Rural. Getting in is free and you need no booking for a self-guided visit: what you pay for are the tastings, €16 to €30. Under its official timetable, the museums, shop and tasting room open Wednesday to Saturday, 10:00 to 20:00, and Tuesdays, Sundays and public holidays, 10:00 to 17:00. It is closed on Mondays.
What is inside
Several things share the one site, which is worth knowing when you plan your time:
- The Island Museum of Vine and Wine, on the island's vineyards and wine.
- The Honey Museum, on beekeeping in Tenerife.
- The Agrobiodiversity Interpretation Centre of Tenerife.
- The Medianeros room, the chapel of San Simón and a traditional wine press in the central courtyard.
- A vineyard garden and a native-plant garden, with dragon trees.
- A tasting room with wines from Tenerife's five designations of origin and the DO Islas Canarias, a shop and a restaurant with a terrace.
The website suggests a quick visit of up to an hour; if you want to read the panels and walk the gardens, you set the pace. There is an audio guide you can download beforehand from the website or from its Android and iPhone apps.
The tastings and their prices
Tastings are booked on the website. Its booking page says they are available “daily”, although under the official timetable the tasting room is closed on Mondays. The wine selection changes every two weeks. As of 28 October 2026 there are three options:
- Malvasía: 3 wines and 3 bites, about 45 minutes, €16.
- Marmajuelo: 4 wines and 5 bites, about 75 minutes, €20. It includes a sweet Malvasía.
- Listán Negro: 5 wines and 7 bites, about 90 minutes, €30.
- Children's menu: one soft drink and 3 bites; the website does not publish its price.
On top of that, the house runs dated tasting workshops with their own prices, plus free exhibitions. Groups check availability by email at casadelvino@teneriferural.org.
Opening hours
- Museums, shop and tasting room: Wednesday to Saturday, 10:00-20:00; Tuesdays, Sundays and public holidays, 10:00-17:00; Mondays, closed.
- Christmas: 24 and 31 December, 10:00-16:30; 25 December and 1 and 6 January, closed.
- Restaurant: Tuesday and Wednesday 12:00-21:30 (kitchen until 20:30); Thursday and Friday 12:00-22:30 (kitchen until 22:00); Saturday 10:00-22:30 (kitchen until 22:00); Sunday 10:00-19:00 (kitchen until 16:00); Mondays, closed.
Getting there
The address is calle San Simón, 49, El Sauzal. By car, it sits right by the northern motorway, at the El Sauzal / La Baranda exit, and has parking (Turismo de Tenerife mentions two car parks). By bus, the house names no lines: it points you to TITSA's journey planner, where you just type “Casa del Vino” as the destination. If you are going to taste, the sensible thing is for someone who is not drinking to drive.

From Finca Julia
Icod has its own designation, Ycoden-Daute-Isora, and wineries close to the house. Casa del Vino does a different job: it shows you the whole island's wine at a glance and lets you taste, at one table, areas that would otherwise take several days of winery visits. Since it is on the TF-5, it fits on the way to the North airport or on a La Laguna day; with the kitchen open at lunchtime, the terrace can be that day's meal.
How to get to Icod de los Vinos
Finca Julia is a few minutes from all of this.
