Admission to the Parque del Drago, where you see the whole Dragon Tree, is €5 (€2 for Canary Islands residents; under-sixes free). It opens every day at 9:00 and closes at 20:00 from April to October and at 18:00 from November to March. Below is the same for the other places people most often visit from Icod, each row with the official source you buy from.

How to read the table

Every row follows the same order: standard price · hours · booking, and at the end the site the figure comes from. Where the official source does not publish something, it says “not published”. We have not filled gaps with figures from agencies or blogs.

  • Canary Islands residents. Almost every venue has its own rate and asks for proof (Spanish ID or registration on the Canarian padrón). Note that some discounts are for residents of Tenerife only, not of the Canaries as a whole.
  • Children. Each venue sets its own age band: 6 to 11 at the Dragon Tree, 5 to 12 at the Cueva del Viento, 3 to 12 at the butterfly house, 3 to 13 on the cable car, 3 to 11 at Loro Parque.
  • Minimum age. The Cueva del Viento and the Barranco del Infierno do not admit under-fives.

Dragon Tree: ticket, price and hours

Tickets are sold on the park's official ticketing site; the entrance is at Calle Las Angustias, 1. Standard is €5, students and pensioners pay €3 and children aged 6 to 11 €2.50. With Canarian residency it drops to €2, €1 and €1. From 1 November the park closes at 18:00. If you only want to know what you can see without paying, the dragon tree guide covers it.

The Dragon Tree: what is free and what you pay for

In Icod

Parque del Drago
€5 (residents €2; under-6s free) · daily 9:00-20:00 Apr-Oct, 9:00-18:00 Nov-Mar · sold online, no compulsory booking published · parquedeldrago.sacatuentrada.es / webtenerife.com
Cueva del Viento
€25 (residents €15; ages 5-12 €8.50, residents €5; under-5s not admitted) · guided visits only, times on the booking page · advance online purchase required, card only · cuevadelviento.net
Mariposario del Drago
€11 (reduced €9 for Canary residents, students, pensioners and disabled visitors; ages 3-12 €8) · daily 10:00-18:30 · booking for groups only · mariposario.com

At the Cueva del Viento the visitor centre is staffed from 9:00 to 16:00 every day, but those are information hours: you only enter the cave on a guided visit with a ticket bought in advance. The butterfly house shortens its hours on 24 and 31 December (10:00-17:00) and opens later on 25 December and 1 January (11:00-18:30).

Teide

Teide cable car
Return €43 (residents €10.75; children 3-13 €21.50, residents €5.38); single journey €24 · 25 Oct to 31 Dec: 9:00-17:00, last ascent 16:00, last descent 16:50 · online sales only · volcanoteide.com
Teide summit permit (PNT 10)
€15 (residents of the rest of the Canaries €6; Tenerife residents and children free) · fee applies only to slots from 9:00 to 17:00, since 19-01-2026 · permit compulsory · new slots every Monday at 7:00 for the next 56 days · tenerifeon.es

The cable car changes its hours several times a year; the official table lists them by date. On 26-10-2026 its English price table still showed slightly lower figures (€42 return); the Spanish version and the booking page give the ones above. The summit permit is separate: the cable car does not reach the top, and the final stretch, trail PNT 10, is only open with a permit issued in your name beforehand. On free entry for children, the Tenerife ON trail page puts the age limit at 14 in one section and 16 in another: check when you book.

Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava

Permit trails and Garachico

€16 (Canary residents €6; child price not published; under-5s not allowed) · entry 8:30-11:30 from 16 Sep to 31 May and 8:00-10:30 from 1 Jun to 15 Sep · online booking compulsory · barrancodelinfierno.es
Castillo de San Miguel (Garachico)
Price and hours: not published on the town's tourism site · houses the heritage information centre · turismo.garachico.es

At the Barranco del Infierno the site closes at 14:30 in the winter season and at 13:30 in summer, so your entry time matters more than closing time. Under-16s must be with an adult.

From Finca Julia

The Parque del Drago, the butterfly house and the Cueva del Viento are all in the municipality of Icod itself, so you can be there at opening time without crossing the island. For the cave and the cable car, buy before you leave the house: both sell online. Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava lie to the east, towards La Laguna; Anaga and the Barranco del Infierno, at opposite ends of the island, each need a full day.
