What to do near Icod: checked activities

This page has one rule: if the operator does not publish the figure, it is not here. That is why it is shorter than what any search engine will give you, and why what it says holds up. It starts with what is closest.

Wine: one winery, and it is a good one

The Ycoden-Daute-Isora appellation has nine registered wineries and **only one publishes public visits with times and prices**. It is ten minutes from the house.

Sea: swimming and diving

For diving, the nearest centre with published prices is in Puerto de la Cruz, half an hour away: €45 for a single dive, €172 for a pack of four, and a shore snorkelling trip of about five and a half hours for €50 with all the kit, from age eight. There is another centre in the north-west, Teno Sub, which says it also works out of Garachico but publishes no prices: that one needs a phone call.

Stars: the free option first

Teide and the summits hold Starlight certification, and the park viewpoints are free to enter. Turismo de Tenerife points to **Llano de Ucanca** and the area around the Parador as the spots that need no walking. There is also a free self-guided stars and planets route with panels at seven stops between El Portillo and Chío. You do not need to pay for a tour to see this sky: you need a car and a blanket.

Farmers' markets

All the figures below come from the Cabildo de Tenerife's official guide. **Icod has none**: the town does not appear in that register, and the weekend market that ran on Plaza de Andrés Lorenzo Cáceres was suspended by the council in 2023 with no source confirming it came back. The neighbouring ones are alive and well.

Craft and local produce

• **Cha Domitila pottery centre**, in Arguayo (about 35 min): aboriginal ceramics made by hand without a wheel, with live demonstrations. Tuesday to Saturday 10:00–13:00 and 16:00–19:00, Sundays 10:00–14:00, closed Mondays. No official source publishes a price.
• **Casa del Vino and Casa de la Miel**, in El Sauzal (about 45 min): both sit in the same Cabildo site, so it is a single stop. Tuesdays, Sundays and holidays 10:00–17:00; Wednesday to Saturday 10:00–20:00; closed Mondays. Prices not published.
• **Casa del Plátano**, in Icod itself: it exists and the municipal tourism portal lists it, but its website did not respond while we checked, so no hours or price are given here.
